Implementation of Piinuts in a hospital
Hospital staff handle sensitive information every day. For the Bienne Hospital Centre, we implemented Piinuts, an anonymisation tool made available to employees, so they can work with their data without exposing personal information.

Where we started
Day to day, staff at the Bienne Hospital Centre write, review and exchange texts that contain personal data: names, dates, contact details, medical information. As soon as a digital tool is involved, especially an AI tool, there is a real risk of sharing identifying data by mistake. The hospital wanted to give its teams a simple, reliable way to remove those elements before any use, while protecting patient confidentiality.
What we built
We implemented Piinuts as an anonymisation tool for staff at the Bienne Hospital Centre:
- A tool within reach: each person can anonymise their own content, at the moment they need it.
- Automatic detection: personal data is found and masked, without having to search for it by hand.
- A simple start: the tool fits existing working habits, with support for the people using it.
